Home Ownership & Housing Rehabilitation
We provide free homeownership workshops every third Saturday of the month to
Macon County residents. Our clients also receive credit counseling, monthly
budgets, and after-closing services. Housing rehabilitation grant and/or loan
applications are available for modest-income homeowners seeking repair
assistance. These funds are provided by the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Tusk-Mac CDC Youth Safe Haven / Mini-Police Station
Funded by the Eisenhower Foundation, Youth Safe Haven is a youth-oriented,
research-based program designed to improve or maintain academic
performance and prevent juvenile delinquency. The program provides tutoring,
mentoring, nutritious snacks and various constructive after-school activities for
school-aged youth of Tuskegee and Macon County. Partners include the
Tuskegee Housing Authority and the Tuskegee Police Department.
Greenfork Park Redevelopment Project
The Greenfork Park Redevelopment Project is one that was birthed from the
collective efforts of the Tusk-Mac CDC, the City of Tuskegee, and the
Tuskegee-Macon County YMCA. We have selected Leathers & Associates to
assist us with this "community build" effort. This park will be developed, funded,
and built mainly by the hands of Tuskegee residents. We plan to have this park
built during May 2-6, 2007. Please call or come by for more information.
